This painting is from a reference I took while in San Antonio a couple of years ago. There is a lovely little pond in the courtyard of the McNay Art Museum which boasts, among other art treasures, a Rodin sculpture. A little fisherman sculpture is the centerpiece for this pool with its water lilies and koi.
I spent most of my time admiring the artwork itself, but the architecture really kept drawing my attention away. One day I will paint an element or two from that as well, with its Spanish roof tiles and archways.
