Bouguereau Eye, An Analysis

This morning I am offering an analysis and painting demonstration on the eye of Gabrielle Cot as painted by Wm. Adolphe Bouguereau. Bouguereau has long been my favorite old master, and I have reproduced 6 of his paintings throughout my continuing learning process, one of which I duplicated three times. His draftsmanship, flesh tones, and subject matter are all worth analysis and study. You can see the demonstration HERE  I expect he may become a favorite of yours also, if he isn't already.

Bouguereau is by far my all-time favorite. His work is marvelous. I was privileged last week to view a couple of his painting up-close-and-personal. The Impressionist exhibit came through Nashville and was in exhibit for nearly 3 full months. Needless to say, I made it in on the tail end. I wish I had gone sooner, that way I could have made several trips. It closes today.

Thanks for the comment, Lokelani. I have the good fortune to view several originals in Ocala at the Appleton museum as part of their permanent collection. Lovely skintones and draftsmanship...a true master!
