PRUNING DAY

"Pruning Day"  Original oil painting  Unframed  6" X 6"
SOLD!

The Ringling Museum of Art is a delightful place to visit, just an hour or so away in Sarasota.  Occasionally Mike and I go down to enjoy the art and take photos on the beautifully landscaped grounds.  There is a pretty large rose garden, started by Mabel Ringling, enhanced by lovely stone statuary.  On this visit, one of the volunteers was pruning among the blooms, with heavy leather glove and yellow compost bucket to drop the clippings.  She had such an interesting face and posture, I had to paint her.

This is also where I attended the John Ebersberger workshop in November.  We had a professional model and painted on site beside the bay.  Lunches were spent relaxing on the patio under the huge banyan trees.  Those trees are another lovely painting in my mind...
