Again, I can say, painting chickens makes me happy. I love the contours, the softness of feathers, the solidity of form and the colors. This is the first time I have painted a white chicken and I am very happy with the result. I have been working this year at plein-aire work and particularly with the effect of light on the subject. I think this painting advances that vibrant light effect that I am working toward. "Sparkle" is what comes to mind when I evaluate this one. It is exactly what I envisioned when I began this piece. Expect more chicken paintings in the future, because I truly love them as subjects!
